Carol Calabrese, RN, BS, T-CSCT, CHESP, CIC, recently retired from Diversey and now provides consulting through Calabrese Consulting Services, LLC.
My services include onsite assessments, online coaching, surveillance, Policy and procedure review and development, education and much more. As an infection prevention and control resource to healthcare across the continuum to support the improvement of infection prevention and environmental hygiene solutions and the adoption of evidence –based practices.
Carol’s experience encompasses Interim Leadership of Infection Prevention for several organizations, System Director of Epidemiology and Infection Control Services for a healthcare system in Ft. Myers, FL and Clinical Specialist/Infection Prevention in the Medical Device Industry and most recently Senior Clinical Advisor with Diversey. These experiences encompass Acute Care, Long Term Care, Home Health, Hospital Clinics and Physician Practice.
She is proficient in all aspects of the necessary components of an Infection Prevention and Control Program with over 30 years of experience. Carol has been board certified (CIC®) since 1990 and obtained certification by AHE as a T-CSCT and CHESP.
She has provided lectures to local/State APIC and national meetings.
Carol served the Greater Kansas City APIC as President in 2016, a board member and conference planning committee member. She has also served on the boards of DFW APIC and FPIC (Florida Professionals of Infection Control) as Secretary.
She earned her B.S. degree from Barry University, Miami, FL and A.A.S. degree in Nursing from Alfred State College, Alfred, N.Y.
